Sakamoto Days Creator really did have the end in mind

The days of Sakamoto have gotten really hot as the manga has passed 100 chapters, and the creator of the series has revealed that they already have plans for how the series will end! Yuto Suzuki’s original manga series first appeared in the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in fall 2020, but has since become one of the magazine’s deadliest series overall as it passes the 100th chapter. How will Sakamoto’s days end?

In the interview with Shueisha’s Jump GIGA (As detailed by @WSJ_manga on Twitter), Suzuki revealed that creators such as Takehiko Inoue (the brains behind Salam Dunk) and Hiroya Oku (The Mind Behind Gantz) influenced their careers along with filmmakers like Christopher Nolan. Not convinced that the series would go beyond the first take, the creator also revealed that they love thinking about the wild and elaborate types of action sequences we see play out in the series.

As for how it will end, while Suzuki didn’t reveal when the end will come or what exactly fans can expect, the creator confirmed that they “clearly” planned for the series’ conclusion. Hopefully not anytime soon as the series seems to be hitting its stride now with all kinds of new layers being added to its killer-infested world.
